Meet Our Staff

Jack Worthington, DVM

Dr. Worthington has practiced veterinary medicine in Colorado for over 20 years. As a native of Fort Collins, he studied at Colorado State University, and he received his veterinary degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. He returned to Colorado and purchased Loveland's Carr Animal Clinic in 1996; in 2006, he built Worthington Animal Clinic. Dr. Worthington enjoys owning his own practice where he focuses on general medicine, dentistry, and surgeries. Dr. Worthington spends his free time skiing, hiking, scuba diving, and enjoying his dogs, Elliot and Oliver and his cat, Blue.

Joe Sharrock, DVM

Dr. Joe Sharrock grew up in Alaska but has made Colorado his home since 2005. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1997 and served on active duty in the Army flying UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters. In 2005, he left the army and with his wife moved to Fort Collins to attend CSU; he graduated with his DVM in 2010. Since then, he worked primarily as an emergency veterinarian at hospitals and specialty clinics around Denver and Northern Colorado and is honored to join the team at Worthington Animal Clinic.
He has specialized training and has been a trainer himself in numerous emergency, surgical, and endoscopic procedures and is certified in acupuncture (cVMA) and is a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) (University of Tennessee). He is a surgeon for Northern Colorado Friends and Ferals (a Trap-Neuter-Release program), a relief veterinarian for Animal Friends Alliance, and a trainer for K9Medic (a program that teaches field first-aid for K9 working dogs.)

Joe and his wife, Shannon, have two daughters and a menagerie of pets. He played ice hockey at Army and coached it at CSU, but is now just an avid fan. He is an active volunteer in his daughter’s Scouting America Troop. He enjoys reading, yard work, hiking, and long walks with his German Shepherds.

Miriam Kan, DVM

Dr. Miriam Kan is a Kentucky native, but has called Northern Colorado home for nearly a decade. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in creative writing from the University of Montana and later earned a Master of Science in Toxicology as well as her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University.
Clinical interests include soft tissue surgery, senior pet wellness care, and shelter medicine. She is passionate about early detection of chronic illness in geriatric patients and providing the best preventative medicine for our companion animals.
Dr. Kan enjoys running with her dogs, horseback riding, knitting, skiing, paddle boarding, and reading historical fiction.

Nicole Blain, DVM

Dr. Blain grew up in Wyoming but has proudly called Colorado home for over 20 years. Her journey to veterinary medicine began as a certified veterinary technician, a role she held for several years before pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian, earning a Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Blain is especially passionate about preventative medicine and takes a whole-body wellness approach to pet care. She also has a strong interest in fear-free veterinary visits, animal behavior, dentistry, and shelter medicine.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Blain enjoys reading, weightlifting, and spending time outdoors camping and hiking with her husband and their senior dog, Bigby. She also enjoys caring for her turtle, Wyndle, and enriching his habitat to keep him happy and healthy.
Dr. Blain is committed to building trusting relationships with both pets and their people, and she looks forward to helping your furry family members thrive.

Kenley Skinner, DVM

Dr. Kenley Skinner was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas, and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University, graduating in 2019. She lives locally with her husband, their young son, and a lively mix of animals including horses, dogs, cats, chickens, and goats.

Dr. Skinner is passionate about soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and strengthening the human–animal bond. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys working with her horses and is a dedicated supporter of the local country music scene—her husband is a singer-songwriter. She feels fortunate to care for animals while building lasting relationships with the people who love them.

Wendy Love, DVM (Relief Status)

Dr. Love has lived her life in Colorado, growing up in Boulder and receiving her DVM degree at Colorado State University. She joined the staff of the Worthington Animal Clinic in 2005 with a focus on general medicine and surgery. Dr. Love's free time is spent reading, hiking, flower gardening, and cross stitching.
